Increase confidence in your clinical skills
Learn communication skills to help you advocate for yourself
Develop a strong awareness of factors that lead to burnout
Gain practical tools to manage burnout
◼︎ You have repeatedly been told that “New grads need to put in their time, then they can get what they want”
◼︎ You have been programmed to think that “PTs have to gain experience before they move up in their career or make more money”
◼︎ Our profession has conditioned its students to think that “New grads need to conform to the norm like everyone else so that more experienced professionals don’t feel uncomfortable with a New PT’s courage and creativity.”
It’s understandable to think this is true
even I once believed it myself…
Because it’s just not true – you are absolutely free to create the career you want for yourself
Just because you just graduated from PT school, doesn’t mean that you have to follow the “unwritten rules of PT” that say you have to:
◼︎ act like a robot and do things the way the clinic says so even though you know in your heart the way they tell you to bill is unethical
◼︎ do things the same way all of your coworkers are, like doing the same boring mat exercises with every patient who’s had a total knee replacement
◼︎ keep your head down and go through the motions without speaking up even when you know deep down that individual care is what’s best for your patients
It can be scary to think about doing things a little differently from those around you
BUT I want you to know that you can do just that!
Even as a new PT, you are free to make your own decisions and choices about how you treat your patients
And if you stick to these “unwritten PT rules” then burnout might be your end result
So are you setting yourself up for boredom and burnout?
Or are you ready to create a career that is motivating and keeps you filled with excitement, day after day?
Joy at seeing your patients walk out of the clinic everyday feeling better than when they walked in
Freedom to create the absolute best treatment plan for each patient
Excited when you leave the clinic because your work is done and you get to go do fun things with your friends
Energized every day that you walk into work because you have the exact career you’ve always wanted
Hi there! I’m Jodi and I guide high achieving new clinicians who are feeling both excited and nervous in their new careers to gain courage and confidence so that they can get positive outcomes with their patients, continue to grow as a clinician, and set up a career that supports a burnout free work-life balance that allows them the freedom to enjoy their nights and weekends.
